REGENERATION OF ISOPARAFFIN-OLEFIN ALKYLATION RESIN/BORON TRIFLUORIDE CATALYST ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention relates to a process for effecting alkylation of an isoparaffin with an olefin in the presence of a catalyst comprising a macroreticular acid cation ex- change resin characterized by a surface acid concentration of less than about 0.5 milliequivalents of hydrogen ion per square meter surface area and boron trifluoride, the latter being present in an amount in excess of that required to saturate said resin and regenerating said catalyst, upon de- cline in activity, by extraction with a polar solvent.
