ABSTRACT A passive safety belt device for a vehicle ha- ving windowed doors without sash frames, comprising a re- tractor provided on the floor centrally of the vehicle, a resilient support extending upwardly from a rear portion of the door, and a safety belt connected to the retractor and through the resilient support means, to the door. When the door is closed, the safety belt extends diagonal- ly across the passenger's body and when the door is opened, the safety belt is positioned to permit the passenger to get in and out of the vehicle.
