ABSTRACT For cutting extrudate catalyst supports to uniform length, a rapidly spinning roller is spaced at a set length in front of the extrusion die. As the extrudate emerges from the die it contacts the spinning roller which causes the extruded length to shear off at the die face. As more extrudate continues to emerge from the die it again reaches the roller and is again sheared off to the same length.
