ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention relates to novel propargyl-2-phenylamino-2- imidazolines having interesting pharmacological properties. These compounds are of the general formula Image I (wherein R1, R2 and R3, which may be the same or different, each represents a hydrogen, fluorine, chlorine or bromine atom, or a methyl, ethyl, methoxy or trifluoromethyl group; one of R4 and R5 represents a hydrogen atom and the remaining R4 or R5 group is a propargyl group). In particular they have been found to exhibit analgesic and blood-pressure decreasing effects, and may therefore be useful for pain relief or for the treatment of hypertension. Processes for the preparation of the novel compounds are described and exemplified and examples of pharmaceutical compositions containing the novel compounds are given.
