ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention relates to a device for measuring the flowrate of fluid through a well. The device according to the invention comprises an upper portion adapted for connection with a cable, two elongated side members, generally parallel to and spaced from each other, secured to the upper portion, and a vortex generating assembly comprising at least one obstacle secured between the side members transversely of their longitudinal direction. The side members have, at least in the region of the vortex generating assembly, facing walls which are substantially planar, and a transducer responsive to the occurrence of vortices generated by the assembly, the transducer producing a signal indicative of the flowrate.
