ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention provides a method for growing of plants, particularly forest plants, wherein the plants are drawn up in a suitable growing substrate, such as in a so called plant disc or any other shaped body, which substrate is held resting at a suitable support during the growing, characterized in that the root system of the plants is periodically pruned by shearing off of the roots essentially in the plane in which the growing substrate body rests on its support.
