ABSTRACT An emergency running-ring for vehicle tires which is provided with preloaded grooves that contain a lubricant which is released when the tire becomes flat. After the tire becomes flat, the ring is distorted to free the lubricant which then serves to permit limited running of a vehicle on the tyre.
