Abstract. Compounds of general formula I, (I) Image wherein R1 represents a lower alkyl group (optionally sub- stituted by a phenyl group), a cycloalkyl group containing from 3 to 6 carbon atoms or a phenyl group (optionally sub- stituted by one or two substituents selected from halogen atoms and hydroxy, methoxy, methylmercapto, methylsulfinyl, methylsulfonyl and benzyloxy groups) and A represents a hydrogen atom or a group of formula Image [in which either R2 represents a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group and R3 represents a lower alkyl group (option- ally substituted by a dimethoxyphenyl group) or R2 and R3, together with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached, represent a piperidino, morpholino or 4-(lower alkyl)- piperazino group, and n is 2 or 3] and acid addition salts thereof. The compounds according to the invention possess interesting pharmacological properties including an anxiolytic and especially a cardiovascular effect. Pro- cesses for their preparation and pharmaceutical compositions containing them are also described and illustrated.
