ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A process is disclosed for removal of cobalt, nickel, cadmium and copper impurities from zinc sulphate solution by cementation with zinc dust alloy consisting of, by weight, 0.001 to 0.06%, preferably 0.001 to 0.03% aluminum, 0.05 to about 2.0%, preferably 0.05 to 1.0% lead, and the balance zinc. The alloy can additionally contain 0.02 to 0.1% copper.
