INFORMATION TRANSMISSION SYSTEM Abstract of the Disclosure A wireless information transmission system comprising an inquiry station for transmitting an inquiry signal in the form of a high frequency signal, and at least one reply station for receiving the inquiry signal and retransmitting in response thereto a coded reply signal to the inquiry station. In the reply station the received inquiry signal is applied to a nonlinear element producing in response to the applied signal an output signal containing a D.C. component and at least one component whose frequency is a harmonic of the frequency of the received inquiry signal. The harmonic component is modulated in a modulator controlled by a code unit and is then fed to a transmission antenna for retrans- mission to the inquiry station. The D.C. component is utilized for driving the code unit, whereby no power source is required in the reply station.
