ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention provides a process for the beneficiation of an ore which comprises conditioning the ore in particulate form with an aqueous mixture of quaternary ammonium salts as conditioning agent so as to be selectively absorbed on the surface of the particles of gangue or mineral values of said ore to render the surface of said particles hydrophobic and separating said hvdrophobic particles.
