SHADED POLE ELECTRIC MOTOR ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The shading coils of an electric motor are made by die casting molten metal into openings and channels in the stator laminations and into areas on the surfaces of the outer laminations that bridge the openings and channels. Die cast platforms thus are formed in these areas and serve to support the bearing housings. Devices are formed integral with the platforms to locate the bearing housings on the stator. Pro- jections formed integral with the platforms are staked over parts of the bearing housings and hold them in place, eliminat- ing the need for bolts for or rivets for this purpose. -1-
