ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A cathode-ray tube having an envelope consisting of a panel portion, a funnel portion and a neck portion with an electron gun mounted in the neck portion, has a phosphor coated on the interior surface of the panel portion to provide a screen and a conductive layer is coated on the interior surface of at least the funnel portion. In this invention, the conductive layer comprises a mixture of graphite, silicon carbide and silicate such as alkali silicate.
