ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A top section for a bee hive. The top section has an inner cover having inner and outer walls that define an inner space and ventilation channels around its periphery. A base in the inner cover is adjacent the lower edge of the inner walls. An inner lid for the top section is made up of a board having first and second sides. There are relieved portions at the edges of the first side to align with the ventilation channels at the periphery of the inner cover to permit ventilation of the hive.
