ABSTRACT A device for preventing glow discharge on electrodes at high tension, the electrodes being insulated from one another by interposition of a dielectric. An auxiliary electrode is provided vicinal to at least one of the electrodes to prevent the growth of glow discharge thereon, the auxiliary electrode being at a potential opposite to the potential of the other electrode.
