SAFETY LATCH DEVICE ABSTRACT A safety anchor latch device for a metallic latch strike including a plastic latch and a metallic spring member having positive position retaining means and positive strike gripping means which at normal operating temperatures are inoperative and supported by the elements of said plastic latch in space relation to a supporting work structure and the metallic latch strike respectively but which positively engages and retains same when said plastic latch is destroyed by abnormally elevated temperatures. The invention in this divisional application particularly pertains to the metallic latch strike which is formed from a single strip of resilient material. The strike has a specifically defined shape to accomplish its objectives.
