ABSTRACT The development of colour of a concentrate of alkarylsulphonic acids is reduced by adding to and dissolving in the freshly prepared concentrate up to 5% of its weight of an organic compound having at least one other group therein, the partial vapour pressure of the compound thus dissolved in the concentrate being negligible at the temperatures at which the concentrate is stored or transported. Examples of suitable organic compounds are aliphatic or phenolic monoethers, e.g. diethylene glycol.
