ABSTRACT A fibre suspension of high consistency is caused to flow (Figs. 5 & 6) through a fiberizing zone (36) the opposite surfaces (34, 48) of which are provided with protrusions (49) or recesses which move in relation to the protrusions (42) or recesses of the opposite surface. Material or energy is added to or extracted from the fibre suspension while it is in a fluidized state. The method is applicable e.g. to screening, washing and dewatering of a fibre suspension or mixing chemicals to a fibre suspension.
