Abstract of the Disclosure Compounds of the formula Image and the anhydrides or imides thereof, wherein Rf is a per- fluoroalkyl group, Y is oxygen or >NR and R is hydrogen or alkyl. These compounds can be prepared by a free radi- cal catalyzed addition of a perfluoroalkyl iodide to a 5- norbornene diacid or its derivative. They are useful as surfactants.
