Abstract of the Disclosure Ferrophosphorus is a by-product of electrothermal production of elementary phosphorus and has been of limited use. This invention provides a use for ferrophosphorus, in which a melt of ferrophosphorus is reacted with a molt of calcium silicide so as to obtain ferrosilicon and calcium phosphide.
