ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A photometric analyzer to monitor one or more constituents of a mixture, such as by producing indications of the concentrations of sulfur dioxide and NOX (NO + NO2) in flue gases. The NO is converted to detectable NO2 by ozone thus: NO + O3 NO + O2 Contrary to accepted theory, the following reaction to undetectable N2O5 is negligible because of the rapid flow of flue gas: 2NO2 + O3 N2O5 + O2 .
