ABSTRACT 4-Hydroxyphenyl-arylalkyl aminoalkyl ketone derovatives useful for the preparation of .alpha.-(aminoalkyl)- 4-hydroxy-3-(alkylthio, alkylsulfinyl or alkylsulfonyl)- benzenemethanols. The latter compounds are useful as anti- hypertensive agents, while some of the former compounds are useful as antihypertensive or antiarrhythmic agents.
