ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In a closed loop air fuel ratio control system, a throttle position detector senses full throttle operation. The closed loop includes an integrator comprising an operational amplifier and a capacitor connected between an input and output thereof. An arrangement is provided to disable the integrator by short circuiting the capacitor in full throttle operation to permit reduction in the air fuel ratio below the stoichiometric value. The engine is allowed to operate with increased fuel to give more output power than is provided by the stoichiometric air fuel ratio.
