A B S T R A C T STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY A steering wheel assembly has a steering column and a steering wheel which is rotatably movable relative to the steering column. A supporting member is connected to the column and a rotatable member connected to the steering wheel is positioned about the column to move with the steering wheel relative to the supporting sleeve in a rotary direction. A sensing device is positioned between the rotatable member and supporting member to sense rotation of the steering wheel.
