ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A fluid flow monitor of the sort which detects the rate of formation of Karman vortices caused by a blunt obstruc- tion in a fluid stream. The invention mitigates problems associated with the formation of spurious electrical signals not related to the Karman vortices by providing an amplifier which amplifies frequencies selected by a comparator arrangement the comparator arrangement being controlled by the value of a further signal proportional to the number of detected Karman vortices.
