Abstract This invention describes new 4-amino derivatives of pyrazolol[1,5-a]quinoxaline-3-carboxylic acid and esters having the formula Image wherein R1 is hydrogen or lower alkyl; R2 and R3 each is hydrogen, lower alkyl, cyclo-lower alkyl, phenyl, substituted phenyl wherein the phenyl substituent is one or two halogen, lower alkyl, carboxy or trifluoromethyl groups, phenyl-lower alkylene or di-lower alkylamino-lower alkylene or R2 and R3 complete one of the heterocyclics pyrrolidino, piperidino, morpholino or piperazinyl, said heterocyclics being unsubsti- tuted or substituted with a phenyl group, hydroxy-lower alkyl group or one or two lower alkyl groups; R4 is hydrogen, lower alkyl or halogen; and salts thereof. The new compounds are useful as antiinflammatory agents.
