ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: A device for insertion between the outlet of a fluid pump and the fluid inlet to a burner nozzle, the device compri- sing a fluid chamber having bottom, side and top walls that are all stationary, a fluid inlet in the top of the fluid chamber, the fluid inlet being adapted to be connected to a pump, a fluid outlet in a sidewall of the fluid chamber, the fluid outlet being adapted to be connected to a burner, a valve member in the fluid inlet, the valve member having one end that extends downwardly through the top wall of the fluid chamber and into the interior of the fluid chamber, a piston member having one end that extends upwardly through the bottom wall of the fluid chamber, the one end of the valve member and the one end of the piston member being axially aligned with each other and establishing a space that varies in volume depending upon the relative movement of the two ends, a magnetic core attached to one end of the piston mem- ber, a magnetic solenoid surrounding said magnetic core, the val- ve member and the piston member being mounted so that they coo- perate to sequentially unseat the valve member so that fluid can flow through the fluid inlet, and seat the valve member when fluid flow is no longer desired and suck back a limited amount of fluid from the fluid outlet into the fluid chamber by virtue of the withdrawal of a portion of the piston member from the fluid chamber.
