A B S T R A C T The novel compound 3-benzyl-3-azabicyclo[3.1.0]hexane may be prepared by selective reduction of the carbonyl groups of 3-benzyl-3-azabicyclo[3.1.0]hexan-2,4-dione, using a complex aluminium hydride reducing agent. It may then be used in the preparation of 2-carboxy-3-azabicyclo[3.1.0]hexane, which has valuable biological properties.
