ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Crystalline silicon-tin compounds of the formula RaSi(OSnR1R2OOCR3)4-a are provided, in which R represents an alkyl radical of up to 4 carbon atoms or phenyl radical, R1, R2 and R3 are alkyl radicals and a is 0 or 1. Their use as condensation catalysts in the preparation of organopolysiloxane elastomers is also taught. Such catalysts have advantages over prior art catalysts in that, while they are crystalline at room temperature and con- tain less tin, they are just as effective as conventional condensation catalysts. The organopolysiloxane elastomers can be used in the casting of electrical and electronic components and motors, and of dental impres- sions, as coating on plastic molds, as insulating material, and for sealing joints.
