SAFETY SWITCH Abstract of the Disclosure A safety on off electrical switch for energizing an electrical apparatus. The safety switch is adapted to be mounted on the electrical apparatus, but may be separate therefrom. The safety switch includes a housing enclosing an on-off switch and an operating member, such as a key which is adapted for insertion into the housing to operate the on-off switch. The key has three different operative conditions relative to the housing. One is a key insertion and fully retraction position with no effect on the switch. The second is a neutral position in which the key is held in the housing, but cannot operate the switch; and the third is a switch operative position in which the key is movable from a fully inserted position to a partially retracted position to change the state of the switch from its off state to its on state. -i-
