ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention provides means whereby alarm or signal devices such as alarm clocks, telephones, smoke detectors and fire alarms may be detectable by people who are deaf or hard of hearing. The alarm or detector is connected by wires or other signal transmission means to a vibratory device which is powered to oscillate in response to a signal. The vibratory apparatus may be worn or placed beneath the pillow of a person who is hard of hearing and the vibrations are detected instead of the noise of a customary bell or alarm.
