ABSTRACT A process for packing individual articles, each into an individual package, uses an apparatus which operates with revolving continuous conveyors for the articles and the packages in two planes, one above the other, in such a way that the articles are introduced from below by lifting into open tubular packages, and comprises providing the articles with an inner wrap during transport in the lower plane and then introducing them with an inner wrap into the packages. An apparatus for packing individual articles, each into an individual package, uses revolving continuous conveyors for the article and the package in two planes, one above the other, introducing the article from below by lifting into the open tubular package, and comprises a lower turret and an upper turret rotatable about a common upright axis, the lower turret serving to receive and transport the article along a segment of circumferential travel and the upper turret receiving the empty package to be filled by the article.
