ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: Substituted ureas of the formula Image , where R1 denotes substituted phenyl or unsubstituted pyrldinyl or pyrldazinyl or substituted by halogen, trifluoromethyl and/or nitro, R2 denotes hydrogen, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, lower alkenyl, lower alkynyl, cyclo- alkyl, R3 denotes hydrogen or lower alkyl, R2 and R3 together also being able to denote oligomethylene having 4 to 6 carbon atoms or oxaoligomethylene having 4 to 6 carbon atoms and one (1) oxygen atom, and X denotes hydrogen, halogen, nitro, lower alkyl, halo-lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, halo-lower alkoxy, or cyano, with the proviso that X cannot be nitro if R2 and/or R3 are lower alkyl. The new compounds are suitable as herbicides for combating the growth of unwanted plants.
