Abstract A slicer for food products is disclosed which has a circular blade rotating in a support and a base having a surface for receiving the product to be sliced, the surface running substantially parallel with the axis of rotation of the blade. The base is hinged in relation to the support and includes a fractionising element, such as a grater or shaver, adapted to rotate about an axis at right angles to the product-receiving surface of the base, the said axis being located in a plane which is at right angles to the hinge-axis of the base and passes through the axis of rotation of the blade. The axes of rotation of the fractionising element and of the blade are located at the same distance from the hinge- axis of the base and the support. The fractionising element include coupling teeth permitting it to be coupled to the blade for rotation there- with after the base has been pivoted toward the blade support.
