Process for the manufacture of optically active derivatives, of 1-phenoxy-2-hydroxy-3-aminopropane Abstract of the Disclosure 1-[p-.beta.-D-glucopyranosidyloxy)-phenoxy]-3-isopropylamino-2S- propanol and the 2,3,4,6-tetra-0-acetyl-derivative thereof, these compounds having the S-configuration, and therapeu- tically usable salts thereof have a positive inotropic and a positive chronotropic effect and are useful especially for the treatment of cardiac muscle insufficiency.
