ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A device for transmission of electric energy by means of cable from a stationary installation to a movable vehicle is disclosed in which there is provided a drum unit for winding the cable on and off the drum unit, and in which the axis of rotation of the drum unit is vertical and the drum unit cooperates means for effecting the rotational movements of the drum unit so as to take up slack in the cable as the vehicle moves.
