ABSTRACT OF DISCLOSURE A thermostable cellulase preparation exhibiting C1 and Cx cellulytic activities at a temperature from about 60° to about 70°C at a moderately acid pH from about 5.0 to about 5.6 is obtained by culturing the thermophilic fungus Thielavia terrestris (NRRL 8126) in a suitable cellulose-containing medium and recovering the cellulases thus produced.
