ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Improved stable liquid cationic polymer dispersions are disclosed for use as flocculation, sedimentation, retention and dehydration agents. Polymeric Mannich base is dispersed in a mixture of water and a water-insoluble liquid, the Mannich base being for example an acrylamide polymer carrying radicals of reaction with formaldehyde and certain amines. The improvement is the addition to the dispersions of water-soluble salts of amines which may be used together with free amine or ammonia, ammonium salts together with ammonia, or carboxylic acid amides as stabilizers.
