ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE High-frequency circuit for operating gaseous discharge lamps includes oppositely poled controlled semi- conductor switches connected to a resonant circuit comprising a capacitor and inductor connected to the lamp load and serving both as ballast for the lamp and to effect alter- nating turn-off of the semiconductor switches. A control circuit is provided for alternately triggering the semi- conductor switches into operation.
