ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention relates to a protective circuit for a high-voltage capacitor bank comprising at least two equal branches, having a plurality of individual capacitors in series with one current measuring device (current transformer) each, the branches being applied in parallel across one phase of a power supply. According to the present invention there is connected to both current transformers a first differential protection relay being connected through high-pass filters on the input side and a second differ- ential protection relay connected through low-pass filters on the input side. The first differential protection relay alone "influences" a monitoring device without delay and together with the second differential protection relay delays the monitoring device so that a distinction between asymmetries caused by operation and by error is arrived at.
