ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention relates to a device for putting the inner foil wrapper on soft packets in a very high speed cigarette packer which comprises a stepwise rotatable head fitted with a number of radiating compartments capable of taking at most one bundle of cigarettes for packeting and a number of organs to do the folding. This device comprises a stepwise rotatable head provided with a number of radiating compartments equidistant from one another and each capable of receiving a bundle of cigarettes for packeting laid parallel to the axis of rotation of the head, a number of fixed and moving members for folding said length of foil in combination with the turning head, one of the folding members lying at a tangent to the periphery of said head at a position occupied successively by the compartments of said head and being arranged to recipro- cate along a radius of said head, and a thin plate providing a rear wall of each compartment relative to the direction of rotation of the head, the said reciprocating folding member having a thin plate facing the head so that during its forward movement, it folds the rear ends of the length of foil onto the surface of the thin plate outside to the corresponding compartment.
