ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention relates to novel 2'-tetrahydrofurfuryl- noroxymorphones the acid addition salts thereof as well as to processes for their preparation. The two compounds possess a morphine antagonistic activity and one of the compounds possesses a significant analgesic effect. The analgesic effect of this compound has been found to be about fifty times greater than morphine. Processes for the production of the novel compounds are described and examples of certain of the novel compounds are given. Pharmaceutical compositions containing the novel compounds are described and exemplified.
