STEPPER MOTOR VALVE ACTUATOR CONTROL APPARATUS Abstract of the Disclosure The present invention relates to a system for use in controlling a regulated device operated by a motor. The system is comprised of an AC power terminal arranged for connection to a source providing an AC power signal. A timing signal generator is provided, connected to the AC power terminal for providing a repetitively occurring timing signal having a predetermined phase relationship with the AC power signal. A logic circuit is provided for having first input terminals thereof arranged for receiving an externally generated direction signal which is representative of a commanded direction in which the regulated device is to move and second input terminals arranged for receiving the timing signal. The logic circuit includes a unit which is responsive to the direction signal and the timing signal for providing at least one operational signal which is representative of the commanded direction of movement. The operational signal repetitively occurs with the timing signal and has a predetermined phase relationship with the timing signal. A switching device is arranged to repetitively connect the AC power terminal to the motor. The switching device is responsive to the repetitively occurring characteristic of the operational signal for connecting the AC power terminal with the motor to enable an application of the AC power signal at repetitive intervals to the motor and conditionally effect a rotation of the motor shaft by a predetermined distance in the commanded direction.
