A coating composition comprising an aqueous mixture contain acid-stable particles and one or more fluoroacids. The amount of the acid-stable particles in the coating composition is from 0.005 % to 8 % by weight on a dry weight basis. The acid-stable particles can be selected from aluminum-modified silica particles, nonaluminum-modified silica particles, and organic particles selected from anionically stabilized polymer dispersion particles. The invention is also directed to a coating on a metal substrate. The coating contains acid-stable particles attached to the metal substrate through a metal- oxide matrix. The metal-oxide matrix comprises a metal selected from titanium, zirconium, silicon, hafnium, boron, aluminum, germanium, or tin. Fig 1 shows how the composition of a dried coating on a CRS panel prepared from the coating composition of Example 1 can change with spray time.
L'invention concerne une composition de revêtement contenant un mélange aqueux contenant des particules stables en milieu acide et un ou plusieurs acides fluorés. La quantité de particules stables en milieu acide dans la composition de revêtement est comprise entre 0,005 % et 8 % en poids selon une base pondérale à sec. Les particules stables en milieu acide peuvent être choisies parmi des particules de silice modifiées en aluminium, des particules de silice non modifiées en aluminium, et des particules organiques choisies parmi des particules à dispersion polymérique stabilisée en anions. Cette invention concerne aussi un revêtement sur un substrat métallique. Ce revêtement contient des particules stables en milieu acide fixées au substrat métallique au moyen d'une matrice d'oxyde métallique. Cette matrice d'oxyde métallique contient un métal choisi parmi titane, zirconium, silicium, hafnium, bore, aluminium, germanium, ou étain.
