A B S T R A C T SEPARATING HEAVY METALS FROM POLYMERS Process for the removal of metal catalyst residues from water-insoluble polymer solutions by: a) treating the solutions with a concentrated solution of an organic acid, and b) separating the resulting acid phase from the polymer, or, alternatively, c) treating the solutions with a dicarboxylic acid, forming insoluble metal precipitates, and d) separating the precipitates from the polymer solution.
