The invention concerns a light green silico-sodocalcic glass composition absorbing ultraviolet rays, comprising absorbent optical agents whereof the content varies within the following weight ranges: Fe¿2?O¿3? (total iron) 0.01 A 0.15 % V¿2?O¿5? (total vanadium) 0.11 A 0.40 % MnO (total manganese) 0.05 A 0.40 % and exhibiting for a thickness of 3 mm an ultraviolet transmission not more than 40 % and chromatic coordinates (a*, b*) ranging between -3 and 3. The invention also concerns the flat or hollow glass article obtained from said composition.

L~invention se rapporte à une composition de verre clair de type silico-sodo- calcique absorbant les rayonnements ultraviolets, qui comprend les agents absorbants optiques ci-après dans une teneur variant dans les limites pondérales suivantes : Fe2O3 (fer total) 0,01 à 0,15% V2O5 (vanadium total) 0,11 à 0,40% MnO (manganèse total) 0,05 à 0,40% et qui présente pour une épaisseur de 3mm une transmission ultraviolette inférieure ou égale à 40% et des coordonnées chromatiques (a*,b*) comprises entre -3 et 3. Elle concerne également l~objet en verre creux ou plat, obtenu à partir de la composition précitée.
