23443-465 ABSTRACT A liquid, foaming detergent composition comprising 5 to 40% by weight of an alkylpolyglycoside, 0.1 to 2.9% by weight of an anionic surfactant and 0 to 3% by weight of other surfactants is disclosed. The alkylpolyglycosides satisfy the formula R-O-Zn where R is an aliphatic alkyl radical having 10 to 18 carbon atoms and Zn is a polyglycosyl radical with n = 1 to 3 hexose or pentose units. The composition possesses all advantageous properties of conventional dishwashing detergents, an improved viscosity and excellent biodegradability. It is particularly useful as a manual dishwashing material.
