A powder-actuated mechanical lock con-crete anchor (300), wherein the lower end portion of the concrete anchor is adapted to be disposed within the lower end portion of a blind bore (304) drilled within a concrete substrate (302), and wherein a powder-actuated mechan-ical locking device (312) is located within the lower end portion of the concrete anchor such that when the pow-der-actuated mechanism of the powder-actuated mechan-ical locking device is in fact actuated, either electrically or mechanically, the mechanical locking device will ef-fectively be expanded radially outwardly so as to be lock-ingly engaged within lower side wall portions of the con-crete substrate so as to in fact mechanically lock the con-crete anchor within the blind bore drilled within the con-crete substrate.
