A shelving unit for audio-visual medium includes a housing having a cavity. A plurality of planar shelves are positioned in a row at spaced intervals in the cavity to define a plurality of audio-visual medium receiving compartments. Each one of shelves is slidable into and out of a selected pair of co-planar slots in parallel walls of the cavity. By removing shelves the compartments are expanded as required to accommodate audio-visual medium of varying thicknesses.
