The present invention generally relates to a device and method, which may be used to reinforce the native annulus during spinal surgery. The device is a catheter-based device, which is placed into the inter-vertebral space following discectomy performed by either traditional surgical or endoscopic approaches. The distal end of the catheter is comprised of an expansible loop formed of woven or braided material to assist the introduction of a biocompatible solvent and biocompatible polymer introduced into the inter- vertebral space by way of said device.
D'une manière générale, l'invention concerne un dispositif et un procédé qui peuvent servir à renforcer l'anneau fibreux du disque intervertébral d'origine en chirurgie vertébrale. Le dispositif est un dispositif à base de cathéter qui est placé dans le l'espace intervertébral suite à une discectomie réalisée soit de façon chirurgicale classique, soit par voie endoscopique. L'extrémité distale du cathéter est constituée d'une boucle expansible constituée d'un matériau tissé ou natté afin de faciliter l'introduction d'un solvant biocompatible et d'un polymère biocompatible introduit dans l'espace intervertébral au moyen de ce dispositif.
